EW approached filmmaker Kyle Newman (Fanboys) with a simple proposition: Will you make us a short film that collects famous voices talking about Star Wars…
Aren: Since it’s the 30th Anniversary of RETURN OF THE JEDI, I thought posting this EW video appreciation was fitting. JEDI remains my favourite movie ever, to this day, and will probably always will be. I’ve seen it easily more than a 100 times. I could watch it every day of my life and never get tired of it. Now go out there and watch it. Appreciate the best ending of a trilogy ever.
Aren: Here’s a link to our ongoing coverage of Hot Docs 2013. I’ve already reviewed THE HUMAN SCALE and PUSSY RIOT—A PUNK PRAYER. Reviews of ANITA and NARCO CULTURA will be up tomorrow morning. Check them out, and be sure to check out the movies if you’re in Toronto.
Aren: Neill Blomkamp is amazing and DISTRICT 9 blew everyone away. There’s no reason this won’t do the same. I don’t know why I had forgotten about it, but ELYSIUM will likely end up being the film of the summer.
Anders: The trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s newest film ONLY GOD FORGIVES, set in Bangkok. Pretty excited for this.
This may be my most anticipated movie of the year. The final entry in my favourite comedy series. Let the mayhem begin!

I recently watched COMPLIANCE. My thoughts on it are listed in the linked review. It’s also newly available on Netflix US. It’s worth a watch just so you can see what all the controversial fuss is about.

Ignore the spanish. Just look at the pictures. They’re ridiculous. Arnold in THE PHANTOM MENACE? PEPE LIKES TACOS? What?!?

UPSTREAM COLOR is easily my most anticipated film of the year. After PRIMER, Shane Carruth is easily the smartest independent filmmaker working in the US. I have no idea what this’ll be about, but I’m sure it’ll be fascinating.

In honour of the first new post on Three Brothers Film since the rebuild — an examination of some of my favourite movie moments of 2012 — here’s the amazing entr’acte scene from Leos Carax’s insane HOLY MOTORS.

No film coming out this holiday season has me nearly as excited for it as Les Misérables. It’s gonna be great.
